Heard an interesting story last week. A politico told me that a prominent Republican has a daughter who did well in a debate tournament. The daughter received a congratulations card from U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson in the mail.
So I contacted the Republican to confirm the story. Yes, it’s true. His daughter did receive a congratulations mailing from Johnson.
So one can assume that others have received similar cards from the U.S. Attorney, who is looking more and more like a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat held by his father.
The story reminds me about George McGovern. Besides keeping fastidious notes about the people he met while traveling the state, McGovern would also send notes to people marking certain events in their lives. It helped McGovern build a reservoir of good will.
It’s shrewd of Johnson to do the same.
